As I said before...no one really knew for sure about Bulger one way or another as a pro qb. And in fact yes, Martz and Ramsdell liked him before they got him. They had ranked him highly in the 2000 draft but just didn't take a qb that year. When he arrived, he was just inexperienced. But, it was not really possible to say what he was going to be in the pros.
That's not the same thing as knowing clearly that a guy is a #2 caliber qb, Which is what I am talking about. That's why I am careful not to say "#2 qb." I say "#2 CALIBER qb." Which means, you have to know what he is.
And btw Germaine was gone shortly after they picked up Bulger in 2000 and put him on the practice squad. In 2001, it was Bulger behind Jamie Martin.
