I just read that Aubrey Pleasant said, "the game is changing. I think Sean and this organization are a microcosm of what’s going on. What matters is how you reach people, cultivate relationships.”
Well, I think the game is changing beyond that, just look at the rule changes that folks are freaking out over. And I think McVay is looking at all of this as well. McVay is a visionary. He is looking at things in a fresh and novel way. He is not stuck in the preconceived tendencies of the past through ingrained habits of doing things the same way for 20 years.
I suspect that McVay is approaching PS in a modern fashion. There's an old guard approach and a modern approach and stuff in between.
He may be on to something. I think it was zn who said, they hardly played PS last year and looked great in their first game against Indy.
I won't be surprised if McVay is setting a trend here. And that if the Rams start the season well and healthy that more teams will pull back on PS. Who knows? This may be the last throes of PS for starters.
