The thread on "How Old" kinda inspired me to tell the story of the beginning.
I grew up a Rams fan in Illinois, I was starved for Rams news.
So in late 98 I got my first computer & I went searching for Rams news.
I found this board along with many others, this place only had 3 posters but I liked it.
It was part of a network of all NFL teams but this was the smallest.
Then the admin here just disappeared. The head of the network (quartermaster) came here and asked who wanted to do it, not me!! I didn't know anything about computers & still type with one finger today... lol
But I was harassed by the other two enough I finally took it no big deal I thought, just 3 of us here. That was early 99.
I'd go to the poste dispatch board & "steal Rams news" & post it here.
Then it happened...
PD colored their board in red.... Everyone was raising hell about!
After about a week of it I posted there if anyone wanted something different they could post here.
Some of you probably remember the old blue board here.
My goal was to pick up maybe 4-5 posters...
Next day I got up & jeeze lousie there was two pages full (use to be 3 or 4 posts a day)
I asked quartermaster for help & he just told me to pick out some co-admin.
So I spent the next 2 weeks reading every post trying to get a feel for them.
Then I put up a "Help Wanted" sign & I couldn't have picked better.
We got Troy (Ramsrule), Phil (Ram23), Randy (Aries) & Rodger (Happy Noodle Boy) I miss him.
It was work!
Jimmy(JamesJM) & Andy (Shaky) came along later we've had a bunch over the years
So there you have it, really started it in about March of 99, & got named the Herd about July 99 (per Phil)
Then won the SB a few months after that.
You couldn't possibly know the whole story with only half the facts.
