It wasn't but a month ago that Snead was being hammered for drafting Karty who was inconsistent.
Now, suddenly, it was another brilliant move.
It is the same crowd that gives a rookie about 8 games to be fully developed and playing like a good vet before they declare failure. Heck, AD didn't start off as a killer of O's, either.
And, we need to remember that historically while a rookie can have a better than average first year, that isn't the whole story, either. It takes a couple of years at least to know what we really have.... in general.
I'm pretty impressed with the patience McVay shows in the development of players. It seems to be paying off long term.
I get your larger point, Rock.
Still, it’s gratifying to see Ram rookies excelling relative to their counterparts on other teams. That’s an apples-to-apples comparison even though it’s been only one year sample size.
Sometimes, even in their rookie year you just ‘know’.
Snead/McVay have obviously had back to back outstanding draft classes and their UDFA’s haven’t been shabby, either.
