You said it well Ramp. This isn't about snowflakes, it's about McVay's poor handling of a sensitive situation. Everyone knows it could and should have been handled better.
I've worked with some people who were real (insert bad word here) and they abused many people under their rule. Later on, some realized they made mistakes and apologized to the wronged people, some didn't. I respect those that were intelligent and honest enough to admit they were wrong.
