Who in the world talked about players getting their feelings hurt a few years ago, or a HC saying he should have handled things better so as not to hurt the feelings of a QB he lost confidence in? In fact, I think this has MUCH to do with Bellicheck being ushered out of NE. He has not been able to crack the code of this new generation of athletes.
McVay is in tune with it. He gets it, and he's OK with it.
And that is what is going on here...nothing else.

I don't think that is the case here, though...I think it was just a case of mishandling a delicate situation and being honest with yourself about it. I think this quote says it all and can totally respect his candor...it is part of what makes him such a great coach

I’m not afraid to admit to those things, but I think we’re all better being able to look back on those things and I do have more appreciation for him as time goes on.”
