Jones deserves the extension ahead of Dotson. Without question in my opinion.
You are going to have to pay Jones at some point and he is a key to the defense. I think we have him for 1 more season on the cheap but signing him next season to a LT deal may lessen the overall annual cost which will be helpful.
While Dotson and Jones are both critical to the team I think there is much less risk with Jones as he has proven himself over a long period of time. Dotson was a journeyman before this season.
