Dotson has emerged as a star RG. He'll cost around $16 mil per year to keep.
The next need is a great Edge rusher. IF we can get one, it'll be $20 mil per year. Rams will NOT overpay for an average guy.
After that, I think FS would be the most helpful.
With a really good FS, and better Edge pressure, good enough CBs are good enough. But, I'm not sure we have those. Yet, we don't need elite CBs and we might be able to get a pretty darn good older vet on a reasonable 1 year deal while we draft and see if we can develop a couple of good CBs.
Pay Dotson. Improve the Safety position by either draft or trade and we are on our way.
Edge can be pricey and as you say, you don't want to over pay and next year we should have enough money and draft stock to do whatever they think is best.
I think if we do the above, Morris and his staff will have us as a Top 10 defense and our offense will continue to roll.
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
