I am down on McVay he has a record of 11-18 since the beginning of 2022
A lot of us feel like he hasn't adapted his offense and he abandons the run... he did it yesterday but then went back to it in the second half. He doesn't believe in having a solid backup QB...waiting until he GB disaster to sign Wentz. His lack of focus on getting a stud running back for this offense and then low and behold he realizes he has one and still doesn't seem to realize that the offense is better off balanced than putting the entire thing on Stafford and this oline
Also... some of us saw 7 wins for this team. Namely me... others like the OP said they would stink. The truth is the Rams ceiling is 9 and the floor is 5.... I said that all along and sure enough it appears they are heading to that or maybe better.
I need to see more consistency from McVay. Great coaches don't have the lapses that he has so often. Great coaches don't refuse to run when you have a Kyren Willaims and his constantly facing light boxes. He seems to be moving in the right direction with this run game... but I need to see more.
3 wins a row to get the Rams to 6-6 after Pitts, Cincy, and even that first half of the 1st Cards game ... was bad.
We aren't far enough from those games IMO. Everyone has a right to an opinion... I think McVay has a long way to go before we can start patting him on the back
We don't start celebrating because the Rams are .500... well I guess some do. We start celebrating when the Rams beat the Ravens on the road because McVay called a great game. The Browns beat the Ravens this year. Now lets see McVay do it
Hear, hear!
Soeed nailed this post. Nothing like good context and good perspective.
