Jeez. Stafford is, and has always been, such a warrior that NEVER would he admit than an injury was effecting his game. He never offers excuses for anything he does good or bad. He could be missing two fingers on his throwing hand and swear it had nothing to do with not passing the ball as well.
I can't even imagine what it must be like as a pro QB to try to throw a ball with a damaged thumb. It's not just gripping the ball, it has so much to do with steering the ball. The techniques required to throw a football with velocity and accuracy are so finely tuned that when the body mechanics change, it of course affects the throw to one degree or another.
Stafford just doesn't often miss those throws. Give the guy a break. Dude leads another 4th quarter comeback that makes him like the 5th or 6th leading QB in the history of the NFL to lead 4th quarter comebacks.
I love Stafford and hope he remains the Rams QB for another 5 years. He has the heart of a lion. The likelihood of drafting a guy who can measure up to him is darn small.
