The way it is in the NFL right losing your starting QB is a death knell to nearly every team. I like that the NFL made a move to help that a little this year... the emergency 3rd QB rule... but it's hardly a 'fix'.
I have no answer BUT... whatever the 'fix' is it MUST incorporate some way for backups to get more reps... to include 'with' starters.
