Noteboom and Bruss: What they have in common is OL play and high expectations coming in, then being hobbled (literally) by injuries.
Different contract and monetary considerations; if competition and on-field production are truly bigger considerations, treat accordingly w/o favors.
Boom: Can start and play effectively when not hurt; while likely not up to starting 17 games plus post-seaon, valuable potential as sub either at tackle or guard.
Bruss: Has shown (so far) that he can'tt keep from getting hurt against NFL competition; future with knee repair and penchant for getting hurt is risky against a ceiling that seems to be lowering. There are others on board now who could be developed in his place.
My take: If Boom proves valuable as swing tackle/sub guard, restructure according to his value. Bruss, sorry that he didn't pan out. Get what you can for him.
