My take: they got Turner to be AD's backup in the base defense, to provide additional pass rush playing with AD on obvious passing downs, and to be the starting DT when AD retires (or gets traded).
Agreed that they need more beef, particularly at NT. Hopefully they don't try to make a NT out of Turner.
They won't make a NT out of him. He's going to be a 4i/3T--backing up Donald but in nickel he could be paired inside as one of the two tackles---
taking Greg Gaines's spot.
I said last year Gaines had no business being on the field on passing downs but they had no one else. KT is that guy.
DOnald and Turner inside - Hoecht and Young outside in nickel.
Only think I disagree with is the beef thing. Tecnique matters more than size, plus Brown III us big enough for starting nose.
At the 5T/4i Copeland is big enough, Brown IV maybe is on the small side but Mr. Irrelevent is big enough
playing gap and a half does not require being a monster-sized guy. You want big enough--but also quickness to get to ball.
Rams won't have problems stopping the run.
