Morris might be one of the most uncreative DC's I have ever seen. Right up there with Larrie Marmie! lol
We have seen Morris for a few years now and it seems he only knows how to run one scheme. Since some people don't like the Charmin references as accurate as they are, I will call it the "Stay Puff Plan" instead. Soft as a Morrishmellow. lol
I think we see more of the same on defense 43. If Morris was too scared to get out of the Ultra Soft Shell while having 3 HOF'ers on his unit, forgive me if I am a little skeptical that he will suddenly change when only having one HOF'er to work with.
Like you, I am hopeful Lake and Pleasant will make a difference but, if we keep running the Stay Puff plan with 10 yard cushions, how much will they be able to help?
Just get ready for all the excuses of Morris not having any talent to work with as a reason if the defense struggles. H3ll, some people were already saying that last year when Morris had 3 HOF'ers on his unit and only managed a middle of the pack defense.
This could get ugly 43. Any chance we are grooming Pleasant or Lake to be our next DC?
IMO, this might be Morris's last year here as DC. Not because he will get a HC gig, because we all know he won't. but because I think McVay will want to move on. Maybe McVay will feel bad for Morris and make him an "assistant HC" or something like that just so he can still be paid.
