Starting to learn guitar is definitely the hardest time.. your fingers hurt like hell, you kinda get better at making the chords by the end of the day - then wake up the next day and its like starting all over.. except your fingers are on fire..
Its not easy, but dust that thing off and keep trying.. All the other stuff I mentioned will fall into place, naturally, as you get better on guitar lol
When I first started out I hardly ever was seen without a guitar in my hand. My neighbors hated my as I tried to learn the Star Spangled Banner...Jimi Hendrix version! lol
I remember playing until my finger tips would bleed. Once you get the "callus's" you are good to go.
I had to learn everything the hard way back in the day. Now there are videos on how to play almost any song you can think of!
It's never too late Oz! Learn 3 or 4 chords G-C-D or E-A-B and find a song that uses those chords to play! For me the first chord I learned was a D chord. It's a very versatile chord that you can branch off and do many things!
Blues is a good way to start!

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
