I think the math that Snead uses is much more complicated than just BPA vs need. If you've ever listened to him talk about the draft then you know he's looking at future holes in his roster and future picks from future drafts. There's internal roster grading, free agent grading, other team's roster grading. There's a salary cap that is ever changing. There are preferences as to what type of player his Head Coach prefers. There's the comp pick game which he uses expertly. It's a ton of stuff. There's Medicals, physical measurements, interviews, intelligence tests, meetings with former coaches. It's way more complicated than a 40 time or which school they attended.
And with all of that, it's an educated guess where the experts miss a majority of the times.
Snead and McVay got the Rams into two SBs the last few years and won one. They must know something. Right now, we have very few proven players and the best of them, Stafford , AD and CK are all coming off major injuries.
We need players everywhere. And they'll come from everywhere. Snead will probably trade all over the draft to hit targets. He'll sign the best undrafted players. He'll add a few vets cheap post draft. We'll get to 90. And my big prediction is that he'll do such a good job that we'll rue cutdown day to get back to 53. As for who they snag at 36, I doubt we pick there. He'll move up or down. My guess is a skill player or a CB.
