I agree with whistling past the graveyard. There were 3 of our FAs I felt/hoped we would re-sign...Gay, Scott and GG. And now they are all gone. It's not like we can't replace them in this draft. We can. But, we are losing vets that know our system and played well in it to guys coming out of college with no NFL experience at all.
Yes, we will get comp picks next season, but how does that help us now? I also wanted us to figure out away to keep Baker, but we didn't do that either. I know our roster s stripped to the bone and we will add good players in the months ahead, but it's depressing to be where we are right now. And counting on Kendrick seems like our new chant of "playing the scrub for Caleb" makes sense. I'm 61 and might be faster than that guy. Okay. I'm not. But every WR in football is lots faster than him. Lots. He was late all over the field. Durant is an aggressive, strong against the pass CB, but can't/won't tackle. Yeast and Lake showed what? Fuller is at best very rusty. We have no secondary. None. We have 1 LB. 1 DL. Hoecht is going to play somewhere but is he really an edge if a DE? On O, we have 1old injured QB, 1 incredible WR, 1 TE, 1 OL, 1 RB. Need 11 to field an offense. We have 5. On ST we have no PK, no LS, soon no punter and a very MEH KR.
The cupboard is bare. We let the lunatics go through it all. I've never seen any SB champion turn over their entire roster like this in two years. Never. Waiting to see McVay pull a rabbit out of the hat, but I don't see a hat.
