he's a year older, his aches of football are adding up, it doesn't take as much to get him on the sidelines. His heart is there, I really think so, he won't tank or anything like that, but his body is breaking down from all those 3 on 1's.
For anyone looking at this drafty as our savior......if the coaches don't live up to their needed spot this draft (and maybe moving forward) will be crap shoots add in ALL these young guys who really are still rookies themselves save for what time the got last year. How much of that time helps them elevate into year 2 is a big question, can they elevate or are they what they showed out last year? (1 game there, 2-3 games a non entity)
The new staff can help in that area immensely. I am not going to rationalize about loosing Gains as maybe not so bad a thing. When he played alongside AD it helped them both, the run game was bolstered by A'Shawn as well as Gains....They are gone, I can't polish up an apple after that.....
As far as the O goes, that run game has to be a go to part, it just can't be there and then be gone...can you rely on an O'Line filled with either injury prone players mixed with guys who have played less then 1 year at best, none at all in 1 case? The pass game is there, no issues, it just needs to open up to anyone not wearing the #10....that should be the easy part.
Some have said we need a D to help out our O this year, I really think it is our O that needs to prop up and help the D. Losing our kicker doesn't help that out, and Dixon IMO is not a strong asset at punter.
I just hope that all the movement by other teams doesn't necessarily mean immediate improvement over the RAMS.....maybe they won't mesh correctly....one can hope anyway.
