Both are problematic and maybe not identical. But Goff, when he was the focal point and the pressure was on him to produce, his game dropped dramatically. He had moments when he did come through, but by and large, like Stafford, they can't be counted on to not make mistakes. Stafford throws more TD's but turns it over more. Goff throws fewer TD's but turns it over less.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
The 49ers did not move to Santa Clara because traffic was too difficult for fans. That's just not the case. And whether traffic is worse in LA or other metropolitan areas, it's not so much worse that it's the difference between fans not showing up and fans in other cities that do. Regardless, LA has more excuses why they can't go than anyone else. I guess it's perfectly fine for the Rams toby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

Various reasons. Mostly money. Not far behind is I don't like going to live games. I've been to a few baseball games and college football but I'd rather watch on tv. Especially with the Red Zone channel in recent years. Lastly, I now don't have much of a choice. Total kidney failure has left me with limited travel options.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I think you're placing too much on traffic. You think the 49ers left SF because of traffic? They'd still be in downtown if the city would have given them the deal they wanted. It had nothing to do with traffic. And if LA traffic is so bad that it prevents people from going to the games then that only supports the idea that LA was ultimately a bad choice for the Rams. But I still don't agreby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotewaterfield "that's how to not lose not win". I hear cliches like that a lot. Some actually make sense. That doesn't. If you play not to lose by definition you win.Well, the last game doesn't really support that idea. Playing not to lose can and did lead to a huge momentum swing that the Rams couldn't take back. While those are good stats and a sobering comparison, the caveat is that Goff was doing them in meaningless games. His problems arose as the pressure did. He and Stafford both thrive under garbage time scenarios. Both struggle when the games are meaningful.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Not to mention that he was 72 years old and no other team wanted him either. Rams made the right call. As far as Morris, firing him wouldn't be seen as unwarranted and IMO, would show that the Rams aren't going to settle for mediocre results. Morris has 3 all-pro's to work with and he couldn't stop an 88 yard drive by a mediocre offense. From 1st overall to 16th in one season where all of tby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams fans are excused because the parking is bad at SoFi? What, all other stadiums are a breeze to get in and out of? Sorry, that's a terrible excuse. Reid and Cowher and Schottenheimer and many others were also heavily criticized for their lack of winning it all. Reid finally broke through but Philly gave up on him as good as he was. Chargers dumped Schottenheimer after a 14-2 season because he failed again to get out of the first round. McVay is great and I hope he gets it figured out. But choking away important games is starting to pilby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Yup, it's not a criticism of those who do show up. The same was true of Anaheim and St. Louis. The fans who actually went to the games are to be commended. I don't really know why there would be confusion about that but it does seem to be the case. The problem is, there aren't enough passionate Rams fans. Of course, I understand in a way. There are plenty of QB's who would replicate what Stafford has devolved into. For an "all-in", one year shot I'd have preferred Rodgers. More long term, there is Watson. No other consideration, Herbert, Burrow and many others. But as tied to Goff as I thought we were, we're even more so to Stafford. That's the whole point. "Had". And yes, most of the reasons are just excuses. Let's look at the Raiders for example. They were a transplant team. They did not have a permanent venue. They LEFT LA. They were only here for 12 years and that was 27 years ago. Yet, they haven't succumb to "reasons" for their fan interest fading.by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
You say crickets, I say Stafford has been awful when we needed him most. Even at his worst, when it was clear he was on the way out, Goff only threw 3 interceptions that last quarter of the season. Stafford had 8 picks in his last 4 games. Essentially 7 pick 6's on the year. Whatever benefit he is providing in production is being negated by his turnovers. Since it's manic Monday, why not bring up Goff? In 2020, Goff's last quarter of the year was dreadful. He barely threw more TD's than INT's and he posted an 84.0 rating. A change was made and rightfully so. A championship caliber team cannot be saddled with that kind of inefficiency. A year later, where are we at QB? The last 4 games, Stafford has actually been worse than Goff was, puttinby moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
Doesn't it also seem that when we finally do blitz, it is so predictable and straight forward that not only do we not generate any pressure, but their offense takes advantage with a big play?by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think it's an over generalization. LA fans mirror LA teams. LA teams generally play down to their competition, struggle as the favorite and don't take rivalries as seriously as the competition. LA fans show up late and leave early. They have a reputation for being less passionate overall for a reason. Which isn't to say that there aren't "some" die hard fans but in general,by moklerman - RamsFootballFans.com

I'd forgotten that LaFleur made that lateral move. That's a nice catch. McVay and Stafford both are proving to not be trustworthy. Which is concerning. But it is rare that you can reign in that type of situation after the fact. It's like demoting a HC to OC or DC. On paper, it should be fine.
