Yeah I know mcvay was content with overtime and was playing it safe somewhat. I'm really surprised that shanahan didn't go for two with the way they were running down our throats.
That's what worries me. McVay has often mirrored what Martz did and for McVay to shut it down like he did reminded me of Martz against Carolina. Which was the death of the GSOT officially. It's one thing to lose your fastball but when you become afraid to throw it, it's not good. If McVay is afraid to be aggressive, it doesn't bode well for his future.
Aggression isn't good in every situation but McVay was playing not to lose and that isn't who he is or a good approach in general. As much as the SF game was a statement game, this next game will tell me a lot about what McVay is as a coach going forward. If he's lost the ability to manage a game, things are not looking good.
