Keep Dotson. OLine is where it is at.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think I got most right. I was wrong about the WR position. Clearly NP is all pro caliber material. The IOL was a push or downgrade until they got Dotson. I was wrong about the coaching. I think McVay et. all have proven themselves to be good. The biggest thing I think I am going to be wrong about is the amt. of wins. I figured 7 max and now I'm thinking 10 max if all goes great.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
43, my thoughts are similar to yours. Like you I thought McVay called a great game. But I'm not convinced he's changed or truly learned. He has a tendency to regress back to his cute, pass happy mode of play calling. I would continue to look for a more a more smarter, and consistent back up QB. Wentz has proven that he's an inconsistent dummy when playing QB. In my view he's just a injuby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed, but definitely a couple weeks late. Not a good look for our team's management but better late than never.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree Ram, I didn't know Wentz was available. Something is definitely wrong with the brains management of our team. An alert and focused management would have signed Wentz just after the Stetson debacle.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I went to see my Dr. up here in Detroit. Dr. Boombatz is from a strange country but he's a devoted Lion's fan. He said last year he offered up one of his kidneys on the alter of Molech, along with a pint of blood, if the Lions could make the playoffs. He was disappointed. Now, he has an artificial leg and arm and he's very hopeful. Yeah, there's a ton of teams that would trade the lastby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
1) Rampage said it best. It would be an asinine move to dump McVay at this point. The "what have you done for me lately" is a very bad approach and argument. 2) Ramgator and Speed are right that McVay has made more than an allowable amount of dumb mistakes during the last couple of years. I call it maturing and learning. The shine has been off McVay for several years now and Iby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, definitely. They've not looked good lately, but they still deserve some grace in my opinion. Most of us knew we'd be going through a difficult time, we just didn't expect our coaches to be a big part of the problem.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I like your thinking on this NM. It's something that has been obvious for a few years but not articulated. I still laugh and shake my head that Arizona was desperate enough to take Murray. The passing quality of the college QBs has diminished while their running ability has increased. Everyone with half a brain knows that the lifespan of a running QB is low. Unfortunately pro teams are despeby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm more hopeful now than at the beginning of the year. Most all of us knew that it would be a tough year as we're rebuilding. Our team has done better than I expected but McVay has been disappointing. I think the world has seen that he's not boy wonder, but I'm not sure he knows it deep down. I think I predicted betw. 3 to 6 wins this year. I'm thinking we can get 6 or maybe 7. Be hopeby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he'd do this team a world of good.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with everything except I'm not convinced that McVay is back on board with the running game. His track record shows that he tends towards the passing game. That being said the Rams have certainly outperformed my expectations and I give McVay the lion's share of the credit. I'm actually very happy overall and feeling quite confident that we'll compete to win the division next year. I'by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow, that was an interesting article, thank you for posting. I'm impressed that someone has gone to the trouble to do this analysis. I tried to access the links they provided to "Football Outsiders" but I could not find a way to get them to open. My google chrome couldn't open them. But either way it was nice to see how they approached the topic and the detail they focused on. Asby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Their bodies are not meant to carry that heavy of a workload. This is no secret and our coaching staff has been dumb in not seeing it and fixing it. This ain't differential equations.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd prefer Freeman, but McVay is a creature of habit.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Man, such sloppy journalism. That shows you that journalists work under deadlines and they often turn out crap.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay has addictions to cute pass plays and small fast offensive players. His track record proves this. What bothers me is that if an invested football guy can pick this up, why can't he? This is not solving differential equations. On the hopeful side McVay has shown that he has the ability to learn and adapt/change but way too slow. I'm still so glad that we have him as our head coaby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Quoteroman18 when Rivers spells him and gets 5 a pop? You have 2 guys who are on the low roll of the payroll and they make a nice 1/2 punch....I don't see the need for a bell cow type.....I don't want to use any 2024 picks for current NFL players....I thought the idea of this season was to adjust and lower payroll and hit everything next season....a lot of money to spend AND a whole/entire grouby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
KW was not meant to be our team's featured back, Cam was. I don't know what the heck went on with Cam last year and now this year. KW can block, run, and catch but he's not a workhorse RB. The lack of a real primary RB is a hole in our offense. I like him a lot and I want him on our team but I'd like to see that guy we have on our practice squad, Freeman, get some reps.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
WR injuries are common enough that it makes sense to keep an average but experienced WR on the team. VJ isn't that accomplished enough of a player to get a good RoI. I remember a couple of years ago Josh Reynolds stepped up better to the challenge than VJ has done. I really expected a great deal more from VJ.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It was cool seeing Stan in the locker room with the team.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
We have bigger needs than worrying about replacing Higgs. He's been very good his entire career.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Before the last game I was super confident in McVay, now I'm worried. Has he peaked and plateaued? Is he able to get over his pass-happy, cuteness, mentality? Or did he just have a real bad string of brain farts? He's adept at talking the talk now he's got to walk the walk. If he can't do it with the colts it'll be an extra bad sign of things to come?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Coach has a very good coaching record. He is ranked 10th, (0.613 w/l percentage), of all current head coaches and really should be ranked 9th because the Ind. HC has only 3 games to his credit. He's had two SB appearances and I'm guessing 5 playoff appearances. That's excellent. He had a very bad game and deserves the criticism. Don't know why he had a bad game. He's proven that he's ableby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow, so well said. We've seen McVay change from his focus on cute gadget players to better balanced players in the draft but that change took time. In previous seasons he called too many pass plays and later said he learned from his mistakes. Now it seems that he's regressed. At this point McVay is what he is. We should have kept Gay and Gaines, and maybe A Shawn if they could have squeezed out the money. The financial cut backs were an excessive over-reaction. The pendulum swung too far the other way. A bad management decision.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
