When the OLine gets blown up repeatedly, every play call is vulnerable. I actually credit their front four because it's collectively the best unit we faced all year and a great DLine is McVay's kryptonite. It's Goff's kryptonite. It's every running back's kryptonite, even Dickerson's against the Bears in '85 when we had one of our best OLines.
Yes, McVay seemed flummoxed but we were able to win sans the holding calls at the end. The defense did not play to their standard. Let's face it, they were FLAT all across the board. But if you had to pick one unit, it was the OLine who had its worst game of the year. Oh, and how many dropped passes did we see? Akers and Everett on back to back plays? Ugh
On the other side, we should credit the Jets. They played their asses off. We get mad when we win and all the focus is on how the other team lost. Let's not be hypocrites here. Darnold played very well. Williams is a future All Pro. Gore deserves a gold jacked one day.
