I'm thinking they got a poor return for their investment.
The 9ers gave up a lot to draft a QB with a small resume. He excelled where he played but he's played a short time in a weaker conference.
He may develop into a great QB but I don't expect him to flourish this year. For what they gave up I'd except to see something more solid.
For the amount the 9ers gave up I'd expect to see a greater immediate return on investment. As one poster noted perhaps the Jets QB change screwed up the 9er's plans, or perhaps their FO believes Lance is a stud QB. Either way it doesn't look like a great pick to me.
