Could of been the same injury that took him out limited him in games 1-8; any extra weight is very bad for lower body injuries. In any event if he’s healthy and motivated his play should be better, hopefully much better.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Gurley was not the workhorse back he had been last season. His touches were down significantly. His production was certainly down last year. I am optimistic that we will see much improvement in the running department no matter who carries the rock!by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Deacon, didn't he invent the sack? Okay he coined it. If they counted em all we all know who the real all-time leader would be. His head slap was do devastating it had to be outlawed! He played with tremendous speed, power and reach. His violence and ferocity was unmatched. DEACON and AD on the same defensive line, one could dream. How much input does Kromer have in drafting and/or signing OL players? Some where not quite ready. Certainly developmental types. Then Injuries played a key role in the mess last year. Until I hear otherwise I feel like Kromer played the hand dealt to him; he coach them up, filled holes as they fell and when the Rams brought in some reinforcements for a depleted Ol they showed some late seasoby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

The defense needs more 3 and outs per game. That would help field position, keep the defense fresher for the fourth quarter and give the offense more opportunities. In turn the offense could help the defense with some early leads, fewer 3 and outs and more sustained drives.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Are the worst part of the Uniforms. I can live with the helmet, but gradient yellow and white looks terrible. I want a blue stripe on the pants with the bone uniform. They are better than that ST Louis abomination. Then again when they made them yellow and blue in the 80’s I was sick to my stomach.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Why didn’t McVay even attempt to use Gourley more last year? It certainly wasn’t all on the o line that he wasn’t used more. Why the Cloak and dagger comments from the team about Gourley and his performance or lack of use each week? Why the cover for him? The oline play was poor, but how and why did Gourley disappear if it wasn’t an injury affecting him. McVay and the team kept it all very clby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Speed, production numbers are a good indicator, but if you dig into the specifics they are not always what they are cracked up to be. Cupp was very productive, he also played on a pass happy Eastern Washington team against for the most part weaker opponents . As i recall he did shine against some of the stronger opponents that Eastern Washington faced. Ackers production in College although verby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Which teams have a secondary that can cover three receivers who are great rout runners, have burst and get separation? If I’m a defensive coordinator I’m trying to figure out how my third CB isn’t going to not get beat over and over. I can use my #1 one on one of them and double another but who can cover the 3rd receiver one on one. Good route runners will eat up a zone, especially if play actiby hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Gourley was underwhelming in 2019 too. Both he and Henderson suffered with poor offensive line play and injury, but Gourley’s not going to get healthier. Even if he gets good blocking in Atlanta his days are numbered. Hendersons injuries are concerning, not that he won’t recover from them, it’s just a durability question. Running backs historically have a short shelf life. Gourley had a serious knee injury in college. What he did thereafter was remarkable. The extension he was given was foolish, but based on his production he had the Rams over a barrel. The future looked bright so they paid him big. These are the Rams options now. I love star players, but the big contracts don’t always work out. GOURLEY, for example and even if they do they are costly to a teams ability to build a winner. Big contracts result in a teams lack of quality depth. Would you rather have four or five above average defensive linemen and no Donald or Donald and four or five below average players. The oline was the weakest link last year. They could not run block,. That put the team in 3rd and more than 7 frequently. Opponents didn’t respect the Rams run game. The oline allowed pressure on Goff. The offense was predictable because the defenses were dictating. Being 2nd and long and 3rd and long contributed to that. Gourley has done nothing above average since the Super Bowl season, except maybe pass protect. He is limited in the snaps he can play. I would not be surprised if he is not picked up. Can he pass a physical? His limited production can be replaced by an average NFL back. I just hope they find one who is above average. Sad all around. Obviously they are looking for more room under the cap. So they will look to restructure contracts, maybe the restructure lowers the cap hit if he's traded or maybe it just creates more room under the cap this year. Maybe he meant that Wade didnt’t adust the offense because those three and outs were killing them! Okay, seriously, the Rams were beat badly on both sides of the ball; each had a profound effect on the other and contributed to that beat down. Even the speical teams were not so special.
