I loved how verbose Howard Cosell was, the trio of Gifford, Cosell and Dandy Don Meredith were very entertaining. There banter saved many bad games. There was something incredibly special when a game was carried on Monday. It seemed like the whole wrorld would watch those games. Having said that,, I choose Vin Scully!!!!! The announcement of Aaron’s restructuring his contract followed by almost immediate news of his retirement, doesn’t there have to be more? If his retirement was known by the big brass and the team wanted to ease the pain with his cap hit there must be more to this story. McVay needs to run more. The fate of this team was sealed with very poor play calling the worst of it started immediately after Tutu was called out of bounds three yards from the end zone. Not calling a couple of runs set a bad tone for the team. Although there were successful runs McVay abandoned the run game. There is nothing wrong about drafting a running back early, especially if they are elite and plug and play. Play them on their rookie contract then let them sign elsewhere for a big contract and recoup a draft pick.Those rookie contracts are cheap and for a position that doesn’t half a long average career it’s a risky business to sign a second contract with a back.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

Player specific in almost every case. If a player is coveted highly by a team and they have a reasonable trade to get him, they make that trade. If a team is faced with a number of players who all rank on their big board as equal they may move back to get an extra pick or two. No need to do evaluations just before the draft, especially when they’re obviously changing course. Lots of young and bench players played last year and their ability and fit was evaluated. With much consternation the Rams will take a new approach to restocking the team. I’m with you 43 regarding Oldnotdead. But some of this is obvious and therefore predictable. The big take is that with these injuries the team may have no choice but to pivot. Undoubtedly discussions with Stafford have and will occur regarding his concussions and the risk posed if he continues to play. His response will direct this team’s future. It must be that with age comes wisdom. This line was a massive issue recognized by the majority on this board. How can they not see that it was week going in and with all the injuries and rotating players it is worse than I imagined. To start kicking their +$$; you can’t lose seven times in a row and not expect a rivals fans to come. The Rams need not just to beat them, but embarrass them, so their fans have to reconsider wanting to see that same sort of game the next time they play in LA. Robinson has a solid track record playing on a poor team with sub-par QB's. He is professional and experienced. All reports from camp indicate he is on track to be a major contributor. He is a fantastic #2. I am comfortable with saying he will be one of the best #2 receivers on any team this year. Van Jefferson is above average for a #3, but he is dealing with an injury. But did he deny interest in playing entirely? I see a scenario where the Rams come calling late in the season and he answers the bell for a shot at another Championship. He would avoid a long season on his 40+ Year old body. He knows the offense and stays in shape. I suspect he could still fall out of bed and do a good job. He loves football. I agree with your assessment RFP. I saw the same in his highlight reel; contested catches and a few where he was open, one where a defender must have missed an assignment because no defender was even in the picture. Hope he creates some separation this week, because he has mad ball skills, body control and determination. He's got something that's virtually impossible to teach, fight! And it is filled with contested catches. No doubt he is adept at it. But, his highlight tape consists of him making contested catches against division two defensive backs. I saw a couple of times on the highlight reel where he had separation. He was so open on one that it was clear the defense had missed an assignment. I only saw a handful of plays, so maybe someone will enlighten me, but what I did see was McCutcheon making fantastic catches on routes were he had no separation and the ball was thrown poorly. What. I didn’t see was any and I mean any separation from the defenders, who are all trying to make Chargers roster and who will most l likely not. Does Stafford throw so poorly? Did OBJ out perform Kupp in any games this last year? Did defenses openly focus on stopping OBj or Kupp every game? OBJ was a great complimentary receiver. Would he have supplanted Woods had Woods not been hurt? Probably not. It did take him a bit to get into the offense. He should do even better if he comes back healthy, but he’s not Cooper Kupp..
