The oline was the weakest link last year. They could not run block,. That put the team in 3rd and more than 7 frequently. Opponents didn’t respect the Rams run game. The oline allowed pressure on Goff. The offense was predictable because the defenses were dictating. Being 2nd and long and 3rd and long contributed to that. Now if the Oline could open a few holes and give Goff half second more to throw the ball it would be a world of difference for the passing game. The offense would dictate more. Certainly more deep routes would be available and accuracy on those deeper throws would increase. The defenses didn’t respect the run game and were able to tee off on the passing game. Fix the Oline and everything will get better. The receiving core is plenty talented. Even without Cooks and Reynolds as his replacement they will be. I think we all saw enough from the tight end position last year to know they will make a significant contribution this year. Much more than they contributed in 2018. A running back with two good wheels will help as well. i am worried about Henderson picking up the blitz’s but he can catch coming out of the backfield. I haven’t looked at the numbers regarding pressure on Goff or the amount of time he had to throw but I suspect they were much worse in 2019 than in 2018.
