The Rams offense was methodical running and passing throughout the game. The niners were stymied on offense most of it. The Rams went up 20-6 late in the third quarter. The Rams then gave up a touch down midway though the final quarter. McVay sensing a momentum shift after driving the ball just past midfield dialed up the play of his career facing a 4th and short . He made one poor choice after another, after the Rams dominated the Niners for the first half; and despite getting pushed around in the second half there were so many chances to put them away. He played scared and made some poor choices in that game. I hope he realizes it and when he says before the game, "you have to put teams away" he actually allows the team to do so.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com

I though there were trips to the right and no receiver out wide where Ramsey was positioned.by hammer - RamsFootballFans.com
If you watch the live broadcast it is apparent that Ramsey does not like the positioning on the play and was trying to communicate with Rapp pre-snap about it.. Rapp seemed preoccupied and kind of brushed him off (look at his body language just before the snap). It was after that play that Ramsey threw a punch. Not a good look. Ramsey lined up on the right side, but the Ravens were trips left. He looked toward Rapp with the look of “this is wrong’. Rapp waived him off and appeared to be distracted by Ramsey. After seeing that I was glad the Ravens didn’t get a huge gain on the play. Then came the Jab. I’m certain it had to do with what I saw. Glad it ultimate worked out and by that. Perhaps fewer unblocked rushers would help his woes. He defiantly doesn’t throw many away, but a couple of times they were on him so fast he had little chance. Mid seasons he was high with an number of throws. I went back and looked and on almost all of them he had a rusher in his face and/or had to throw over a lineman with his hands in the air. I remember the Rams win over the Cowboys in 1976. It was a great day. I had been a Ram fan for almost 10 years by then. I became a fan about the same time as Guard. There was very little TV coverage in the early years but as years passed I was able to see more and more games. I’m astounded that the Raiders would deployed Jackson in their offense him having just jointed the team. What routes would he know to run? And for the Raiders to throw the ball deep, are they really known for that? I am certain that once he familiarizes himself with their route tree he will fill the role possession receiver too. His inaccuracies over the last two games are concerning. He appears to be able to zip his throws, but touch and feel throws are not there for deeper passes he needs to get over coverage. A few balls per game have been short because he's unloading with a defender in his face and can't step up. He has a history of being an accurate passer who rarely misses wide open receivers. Hard to have a high average punt distance if more than half your punts are made from midfield and downed inside the 20. He could get the average distance punt up if he punted from their own 20 or just kicked those midfield punts into the end zone. I like the way it's going now. Great to see that Jefferson is a deep threat and looks like he belongs. The Rams have many big play receivers. I focused on Hollins as much as I could during the game. He played great. Henderson didn’t have much room to run in the first half. Whether it was adjustments by coaching or the offensive having a real half of football together the line gave Henderson some holes and he hit them. In the first half he didn’t have much room and on a couple of occasions he missed what was there. The Bears have a very good defensive front. Like lots of you, this whole thread makes me rather uncomfortable about Tutu as a second round pick. Despite everyone’s love of the draft, which always creates high expectations, having lots of draft capital hasn’t always resulted in success; Cleveland’s futility comes to mind, but the Rams have been right with them historically. This part of the article really caught my attention; 'But his frustration was warranted. Goff was slow to process things on the field, particularly in the seconds after the snap. Goff is very low on this list, but threw lots of short passes. I suspect a larger percentage of Goff's passes were thrown when the Rams had a lead versus Stafford who probably threw more when lions were behind. How would prevent defenses come into play? As articulate and detailed as McVay is and the fact his primary efforts are on the offense and he was in Goff’s ear before every play where did you get this ‘McVay assumed Goff knew his expectations’’.
