QuoteFlorida_Ram I won't accept McVay taking the blame anymore when the offense appears to be flat. I've listened to McVay's comments intently after the game and throughout the week and it's the FIRST time he didn't put it all on himself. He cited "execution" as the culprit and actually defended his playcalling for a change. He said Jared did well at the beginning of thby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com

Let's consider the situation before we cast doubt on Goff. The offensive line just allowed a free rusher from the interior. McVay has hinted that Goff wasn't reading the defense correctly. McVay didn't have time to re-teach the offense between 1st and 2nd down. I have no problem with being conservative there. For those lamenting that he was too conservative, how did you feel when he went forby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, I wanted Cush. But I stumped for Hudson big time the FIRST time he became available as a FA. With that said, Cush is still young. Still, good point, 43. We are better offby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Don retired from football early. He died too young. That MNF crew lasted a long time, but not long enough. He couldn't wait for Cosell to make a mistake so he could rib him. But he never sang the Willie Nelson song before an unexpected comeback. Cosell wouldn't have let that one slide.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Speed, I think your point is that the NFC Least tells us little about how good this team really is and I agree. That may be an all time worst division and with Washington next, we will still have learned very little. But it's not like the Hawks have played a tough schedule either and their defense looks helpless. The Packers do look like a well balanced team though. It's hard for me to emphasize enough that the Giants offense is absolute garbage and it shouldn't have been necessary for the Rams to go blitz happy against them at the end. It feels like we are all (fans, players, coaches) hanging on the hope that AD bails them out because we just don't seem to win one on one battles at any other position throughout the defense.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
This is the first time I've witnessed Sean not blame himself for the play calls in the post game interview. I personally thought as most fans that he didn't call a good game. What was telling was that he commented on execution as though the play calls were sound but the players messed up. I suspect he wish he could take that back publicly but he was genuinely frustrated with the execution. Heby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
My belief is that the Giants found some "tells" about what the Rams were running and that's how they shut it down. It could be as simple as keying on the guards to determine if its play action or screen. Sean needs to do some serious self scouting because other coordinators are going to figure it out as well.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I genuinely appreciate Waldman's analysis. However, we have seen some very good screens this year. Unfortunately, the Giants seemed to anticipate each play call McVay had. Waldman also HAMMERED the offensive line in the offseason (like most of us) and he should acknowledge that the Rams knew better than he did. Again, I appreciate his criticism because it seems like he cares.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm with Speed here. There were precious few plays that went the way they were intended on offense. The defense went to a gambling mode with blitzes that rarely got home. If the Giants were even an average team, they would've won as the Rams were flat and uninspired. When I browsed this forum, it was obvious most of us spent most of the game disappointed with everything but the final score.by Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
Worst I've ever seen from him. And now our defense has become blitz heavy and hoping for the best when we don't get homeby Leoram - Game Time Forum

McVay has gone vanilla. Brown seems less explosive. Giants are sitting on the mid to short game and Goff is overthrowing the few deep passes he tries.by Leoram - Game Time Forum

Quoteoldschoolramfan Let's not forget we got the PI call in our favor vs. the Cowboys. As much as I was happy we got that call, it was neither OPI nor was it an interception. Whomever reviewed the call and upheld it should be fired immediately. When he had them do it I said out loud, "he better have a hella play in mind. It was nothing special they don't run frequently. So I agree with SunTzu. I'm actually even keeled about this one. I want to see progress and no injuries. I expect to see more defensive blitzing than the previous two games. This kind of stuff really bugs me. It happened to Kurt Warner too. Tony Romo was a helluva QB and was never really loved by his own fans. There was a time when the Denver press regularly made fun of John Elway. The team around a QB matters quite a bit. These guys take a beating in every way and the armchair media piles on as though they know the game. As much as I loathe all things 9'er, that monby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a funny thing I've never commented on Gurley but even when he was successful, I always felt his production was a result of the overall concept of the offense. What tailed off at the end was really his drops in the passing game. I just felt like his concentration waned. He also seemed to struggle with his vision as he more frequently missed his reads. I will bang the drum once more. I'm grateful not to hear analysts think it's all McVay in his ear so much anymore. When I watched the game on my new TV with an excellent sound bar, the sound was fine. When I rewatched it on my bedroom TV, the crowd noise was twice as loud as the announcers and incredibly annoying. Can't wait to get back to normal. I looked for the same thing and completely agree. But this game seemed to feature a more read and react approach. We won but the yards allowed were frustrating. On the other hand, Philly built an entire gameplan upon limiting AD's opportunities to disrupt. This limited their explosiveness as an offense so his impact was enormous even if it didn't reach the stat sheet. It's always been true siby Leoram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think this thread is a microcosm of all that I like and dislike about this board. There are many excellent insights that come from debate and knowledgeable fans.
