It's a funny thing I've never commented on Gurley but even when he was successful, I always felt his production was a result of the overall concept of the offense. What tailed off at the end was really his drops in the passing game. I just felt like his concentration waned. He also seemed to struggle with his vision as he more frequently missed his reads. I believe the emphasis others had about his lack of burst was overblown. He hasn't been a difference maker for the Falcons yet (my wife is a Cowboys fan so I watched that entire game). In short, he's still a decent running back but the Rams made a good choice in limiting their investment in him at this juncture. The FACT that the running game is MORE effective this year than last (though it's not all a reflection of Gurley) indicates the correct decision was made.
