I think this thread is a microcosm of all that I like and dislike about this board. There are many excellent insights that come from debate and knowledgeable fans. Unfortunately, the personal attacks developed over the years are unnecessary.
43 tries damned hard to bring content to the board and is an unabashed fan. Nothing wrong with that. Speed, ZN, and Max are important analysts who won't suffer fandom to cloud judgement. With that said, what happened to Coach O? Those debates in the Fisher years were epic!
As for the subject matter, this is a good thread. My contribution is that we are seeing situational football from our coaches and this is a beautiful thing. We could have a feast or famine blitz crazy D Coordinator like Haslett that creates as many holes as he creates splash plays. Staley's approach regulates explosive plays but frequently allows sustained drives. If the focus is limiting points, then so far it's job well done. We don't have a physically imposing unit so visions of '85 Bears,'00 Ravens, or even '72 Rams are off the table. While Kiser, AD, Fuller, JJ, and Ramsey are bringing wood, I see a ton of reading and reacting out there. I fear we will lose some games when O Coordinators figure out the rules we have in place and develop a plan to exploit them. AD covered several flaws against the Cowboys and the Eagles tried to exploit Kiser and were surprised by his performance. And yes, Wentz had a bad, bad game. We will learn a ton against Buffalo. Our best will be required. They don't have the OLine deficiencies that bailed us out these first two games.
Preach on 43. Voice caution Speed. But let's not polarize to the point that we become contentious with one another. All Ram Fans Matter.
