This kind of stuff really bugs me. It happened to Kurt Warner too. Tony Romo was a helluva QB and was never really loved by his own fans. There was a time when the Denver press regularly made fun of John Elway. The team around a QB matters quite a bit. These guys take a beating in every way and the armchair media piles on as though they know the game. As much as I loathe all things 9'er, that monkey extricated from Steve Young's back was media driven.
As a fan, Warner's time with the Rams will always be the most instructive. He proved his value with two MVP's and then was ridiculed as washed up as though a great QB can forget how to play the position. Goff still has a long way to go to shed his first year in the league.
Wentz certainly looked bad at times but when you regularly replay only his errors, he looks even worse. The same thing happens in politics for one side to disparage the other. Words matter. Perspective matters. The freeflow of opinions today lacks intelligent editorial. "The Media" is a dangerous thing. I appreciate the deeper thinking I see on this board. I only wish it were more prevalent.
