I like Goff over Wentz at draft time and one of the reasons was the comparisons to Montana and how he could move in the pocket and make plays when things broke down. Now I also will credit Florida Ram who made some very compelling arguments that were well balanced in favor of Goff that captured my imagination. I think what is some much fun is knowing that we have Goff for a long time and thby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
It is nice that the Rams had their bye week so late in the season. Our guys have been playing hard and winning a bunch of rather tight games and they need a little time to recharge the batteries. This bye week comes at a great time. Now they say there are not easy games in the NFL but hopefully with the toughest part of the schedule behind us we can keep our edge but rotate more players intoby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Deadpool I always learn a lot from your draft analysis and look forward the them in the future. What strikes me about Reynolds and Kupp is that neither is a speed burner. I think Kupp ran something like a 4.62 which is considered very slow for a WR and Reynolds a 4.52 is okay but pretty average for a WR. So many times we get carried away with the 40 times and miss the other attributes that gby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

When you take a moment to think about it the return to LA with a new coach and the emergence of a group of star players and a generational offense is really just a great story. On Monday night they brought the community together and honored those who fought to save people and those who lost their lives and after becoming LA's team they went out and played the greatest regular season game ever plby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Aaron Donald is such a great player but more than that he is the hardest worker on the team. He has Lebron and Kobe type greatness and work ethic. He is the kind of guy you want to invest you money in because there this a very high probability that even when you do the return will be significant. I am really glad he is a Ram for a long time.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Samson Ebukam and Aaron Donald had 2 of the more dominant defensive performances you will ever see and yet we gave up 51 points in total. I don't know about you all but I find that hard to comprehend and don't really remember any games to compare that dynamic with. I guess the only conclusions I can draw is KC has a heck of an offense to almost over come have a defense score 2 touchdowns onby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I just want to take a moment and look back at what a great draft the Rams had in 2017 even though they didn't have a 1st round pick. Hats off the Les Snead. They say it takes 3 years to truly evaluate a draft by 2/3 through year 2 things are looking pretty good. Gerald Everett: 2nd Round Pick has been slow to emerge and has had a lot of nagging injuries but in the last couple of games heby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay is a great coach period. He is wonderful a developing a QB and installing a great offensive system. Goff is emerging as a great QB no doubt about it. He has great accuracy, touch and a really strong arm. He is gotten very good at reading defenses and going through his progressions. He is surprisingly elusive in the pocket and can even run a bit. Brady has McDaniel, Rogers hadby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I can remember as a kid the Rams had Roman Gabriel, Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen, Bernie Casey and Jack Snow and were something like 11-1 and I have been hooked ever since. I am sure the same thing happened last night to a bunch of kids around the US.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Ebukam wow where did this game come from. I think we just watched in light bulb go off in prime time. Another draft steal by Les. Reynolds: He is finally getting a chance to play and looks great. Another contributor in year 2 and another 4th round steal. Everett: He is finally getting a chance and did well the week before and exploded in this game. Starting to live up to his draft staby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff and Mahomes are the leaders of a new generation of Quarterbacks for the NFL. Gone is Farve, Warner, Manning and Brady, Rivers the other Manning and Brees cannot be far behind. There is a new generation of QB and Goff and Mahomes are at the top of the list. Add Luck who is finally healthy and Wentz, the kid from Chicago and you have a good group with Rogers and Ryan bridging the gap betweeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Donald is just a great guy and an all time great player. The fact that he is so humble and works so hard and cares for his family makes you like him even more. The contract negotiations with the Rams were tough but but the outcome was predictable as was the holdout length. Donald does such a great job of staying in shape he is one of the few players you can trust to come in ready to play off aby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I feel the same as I did at draft time and have not changed my mind since. I thought bought would be good QB, franchise types and both are. I liked Goff better but it was real close and good find good arguments for Wentz. Last year Wentz had a better year but they both had really good years. I though Wentz would come quicker due to playing in a pro style offense in college and being pby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Totally Agree Rockram. The Fowler unsportsmanlike conduct call by a ref who can hear but apparently can't see the gross holding that is taking place. Littleton and lack of intentional grounding were also terrible calls. It seems like there is not any equity in how calls are made. We get ticky tack calls and are held constantly. I think we will see more of our 2 TE now. They each caught a TD yesterday.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think he compares favorable to Bruce Smith and Reggie White of recent memory. He as out performed JJ Watt. He reminds me of another DT that was undersized named Alan Page one of the leaders of the Purple People eaters. Alan Page, Bob Lilly, Merlin Olsen and later Mean Joe Green are all players that Donald compares favorably too. Off the top of my head they are the best I have seen and he ceby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This was a terrible call by the refs. I also thought the Roughing call on Littleton was wrong has the OL sent him airborne and it was momentum that carried him into the QB. I am not sure what Littleton was supposed to do to avoid the penalty.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay addressed the defense in the press conference but calling out the lack of discipline. He did it in a way that supports Wade and his coaches which is good. But he left no doubt who is in charge and what type of team this should be. Hopefully the get your head out of your butt address will shake things up just a bit and help them get ready for KC.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think we have enough talent to be a very good defense. Yes it is the players who are playing poorly but that doesn't mean they don't have talent. The utter lack of discipline shows coaching. Play calling has been terrible Adjustments have been terrible. It is as much coaching as it is the players and together they really kind of suck right now. That said we have talent andby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Gosh this defense just isn't very good right now. There is a lack of discipline against the run as people are not staying in their gaps and the tackling is just poor. The penalties are another self destructive issue that is purely a lack of discipline. We are off the field and players are making penalties for personal fouls how stupid can you be. I also thought the roughing on Littletby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
The defense has been an issue all season long. We have a bunch of really good and even great players on defense. It is not a talent issue We have a coaching issue even though we have a hall of fame defensive coordinator. In game defensive calls and adjustments seem to be a big issue. If we are going to advance in the playoffs the defense needs to be fixed. I still think Wade iby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Our defense has been a big disappointment but on the bright side we have Fowler who will be up to speed by playoffs and Taqi who will be back in week 13. Also Peters has been playing hurt should get better. I don't know if those additions will fix the defense and make us a top 10 type but it should make us better. Also with a week 12 bye our guys get a rest near the end of the season which mayby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I think we should be able to score on them as those 3 road games gave us an opportunity to play effectively in hostile environments. What I worry about is our defense and giving up the big play. Saints have one of the most well rounded offenses in the game and Brees is great. I surely think we can win but we are facing out toughest matchup of the season.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com

Wow it is shocking that Brockers gave such an honest assessment. With Fisher Goff would be on the scrap heap, Woods would not have worked out. Gurley would be so beat up trying to run into a 9 man front. Fisher was okay at running a defense but he dictated the type of offense and he had no clue what he was doing. The best I can say is before Fisher things were worse if you remember.by David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Here is my view of the trade: 1. The Rams are in a win now mode 2. We have a need an outside pass rusher 3. Fowler has great talent and decent production: He can help us now 4. He is potentially a long term solution 5. If he signs elsewhere after the season he will probable generate a comp pick in the 3 -5th round 6. Rams are good a developing talent and Fowler fits that profileby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotechunkmeister Young and Ebukam stepped it up a bit. Longacre....not so much. I don't take McVay's comments on Obo as negative. It's probably going to take the ful 21 days for them to determine if they want him to occupy a roster spot. I really think that Obo just hasn't had a chance yet due to the lack of practice time just like McVay said. He is a rookie and has missed all that timeby David Deacon - RamsFootballFans.com
