McVay is not the engineering how the roster is built like Gruden is. McVay has input but Snead is the mastermind behind behind acquiring talent. Gruden does both jobs for the Raiders and has room to run right now. Gruden is rebuilding while McVay/Snead are looking to make a run at the SB. The situations are totally different. Win now versus rebuild each with a different approach.
Well Snead is collaborative so he's not a mastermind either. He does his GM role as the guy who tries to get coaches the type of player they are looking for. That means he also works with input not just from McVay but also Kromer and Phillips.
But either way it is true that McVay is not the One Mastermind.
It's also true though that Snead isn't that either. A collaborative GM, as opposed to an Overlord style GM, does not really Mastermind the thing either.
I totally agree that Snead is collaborative but finding the deals and the players to make up the roster is Snead. I do agree thought that he is trying to profile players that fit McVay and is checking the McVay and getting a head nod before pulling the trigger. My point is that Snead is the one who is orchestrating the construction of the Roster you are totally correct his process includes involving and utilizing the coaching staff for the best results.
