I like Goff over Wentz at draft time and one of the reasons was the comparisons to Montana and how he could move in the pocket and make plays when things broke down. Now I also will credit Florida Ram who made some very compelling arguments that were well balanced in favor of Goff that captured my imagination.
I think what is some much fun is knowing that we have Goff for a long time and that he is still in the early stages of learning and his body will get stronger. I remember a bunch of people questioning his arm strength compared to others and that seems silly to me now. His arm looks pretty darn good to me and he can make all the throws with ease. His accuracy it very good and I think that it will improve and his ability to read defenses and go through his progressions is really good and will get much better.
Not sure where he ends up in the QB rankings this year but I know it will be near the top and I know he will have had a Pro Bowl caliber year and that his production is off the charts. I also think that over the next 10 years that he will be in the conversation as the best QB in the NFL and that he is in that conversation right now.
The Rams are truly blessed to have Goff and the Montana comparisons will fade over time and draft guys will start comparing the hot young prospects to Goff.
