IMO it has nothing to do with Fish wanting to stroke his own ego. He's a comfortable guy in his position and power and even when pressed during conferences on who makes the decisions he says it's a team. I think it's all about them controlling what gets out. They have let a lot less insider info out than some other teams when it comes to player evaluation, progress, etc. The conversations wby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams would too IMO. That round 2 pick is far more valuable to the team than a 3rd string QB.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I seriously doubt they'll do like the Rams and move forward trusting that Bridgewater will be the same guy next year, or that he will stay healthy. They have a very good roster and need someone who might be able to improve through the season instead of run into a brick wall when defenses start taking away what they're good at, as you see with career backup types. At least with a younger QB whoby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah btw, I do remember that feeling and don't miss it lol. But the Vikes won't stand pat, they have too good a roster and they know it. Look for them to make a move for a QB, probably with the Jets at the least. Geno Smith or Bryce Petty aren't exciting, but at least they have some upside.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Two of three (Y, Z) allow for motion and a free release if and when the OC desires to utilize it. So on a given roster it follows that you don't need all wideouts who are of the standard size/speed ratio to play X. Where I'm going with this is even if he can't play out wide at X there are two other wideout positions he can fill for this team. And when it comes to X, I agree with you Rock thaby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com

First, they have had successive weeks against the 3rd and 4th ranked defenses in the league in points allowed last year. Both teams finished very high in sacks/pressures. The Broncos allowed only 199 ypg through the air which was by far the best in the league (#2 was Seattle with 210 ypg). The Chiefs weren't as good against the pass, but were still 9th with 231 ypg. The results pretty much tuby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Pay the dude enough to get him in early, give him a two year contract even, but get him in here. That's what I would have done even if I had to overcome his desire to go to a more established offense. He would have been the perfect addition to demonstrate to these young wideouts what a professional WR looks like.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Even among the greatest of them it seems like year two is when they show. Such a tough position that if by some miracle Higbee comes out and kills it the team is going to deserve a lot of credit for not only taking a chance on him but coaching him up so quickly. Been saying that, btw... That our new TE coach has made an instant and profound impact with our group. Kendricks looks smoother anby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Seeing players that they took get help during the offseason due to the NFL PA rules that prevent them from getting coaching is a real nice luxury. I am sure they were very happy to see him enroll in it, because hitting on that pick is a big deal not only for wins/losses this year but also their overall draft record. I don't think GRob is out of the woods just yet, btw. They are still likelyby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd come out and call San Diego a "ghetto-(bleep)" organization and hold out for the entire season. Hire an ex-Defensive End type personal trainer and work fundamentals and stay in shape, then let some team take me in round 2 or 3 next year and go from there. Money isn't everything, so if you're going to not accept what they're doing in principle dig in and ride it all the way. Theby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He just seemed like a nice, goofy type or non-serious guy to me, and granted that was from my armchair where it's impossible to really know what these guys are like. When it comes to LBs I just like the dudes that play with a big chip on their shoulders. Mike played that way, the dude was super intense, but so were so many other greats that it's just something I have always preferred. I mean Iby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
What he's starting to show is what we NEED at MLB. The guy firing up the defense and instilling pride in their play, challenging them and calling them out when needed. All the greats have that kind of element to them, including Singletary who nobody F'd with in Chicago. IMO what they're getting from Tree right now is not immaturity, it's what they were looking for. It's why they hired Singletby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Donald and Quinn are both superior athletes and can run down plays that most DL have no chance to be a part of. Ogletree and Barron are both supersized safeties with ridiculous chase range. I am concerned with AO's ability to survive the pounding, and he's not a physical tackler like Barron who is much better at delivering hits, but those two guys are going to cover absolutely ridiculous groundby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Starting: Tru, Gaines. Slot: Joyner. 4th CB: Hill. From there it's all about teams IMO. Sensabaugh was paid, but Williams doesn't care about that. Hill is going to beat him on the depth chart and after that it's all about special teams. Coty's gonna finish above Roberson due to his talent, but he's not any sort of answer yet. I think the defense will end up getting their snaps unfortunby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If Gaines can return to health I think the secondary will be ok. Honestly I think the Gaines of two years ago is our best corner too. So it's a huge concern for me. If not, things are going to be shaky. I think Hill ends up starting opposite Tru in that event, and it won't be ideal but hopefully Hill will settle in if needed. Joyner has to be in the slot, I don't want to see him lined up oby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
These sustained drives by the opposing offenses are killing the offensive opportunities. I think Fish needs to let Williams gameplan it up a bit vs Denver so we don't make their QBs look like future Hall of Famers but more importantly get the ball back to our own QBs so they can get their reps.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Fish isn't that coach who shows his frustrations with specific players in the media. He usually generalizes with the group as a whole, but doesn't go into things to the player level. For him to come out with those comments, well, we should be reading a lot into them IMO. My translation: barring an amazing performance vs Denver, Quick will be in the first wave of cuts.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
is the differential in throwing talent between Keenum and Goff. Keenum is going to have defenses rolling up tight and trying to contain the passing game, and unless he suddenly grows greater arm talent it is going to result in the same old up and down result we have grown used to offensively. Knowing the offense is great, and being able to manage the game through intelligence at the QB posiby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Teams are going to dictate who weighs over who in that final balancing. If I'm Hemingway I'm going all the F out on special teams in this next game.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That plate of crow is tasting pretty good right now too.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
That line was so good that many started thinking it was all about the line. Redden looked like he was a starting caliber back at times, but when he went to the Chargers I think it was everyone realized he was just a guy. Gurley is the star of this offense IMO. Cunningham's a quality back and an excellent backup.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
of how you don't draft a QB for the next year. You draft a QB for the next decade. How soon they start really is not what is important, it's about whether they're guys who are going to grow long term into what you want at the position. Goff has everything you want in a QB even for a pass heavy offense. Quick feet, release, good feel for the rush, accuracy, ability to throw with anticipationby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
Kendricks is a solid pass catcher right now, and I think Lilly deserves some credit on that front, along with the combo of Boras/Groh schematically. But Lance looks much smoother and settled in right now and I gotta give the position coach cred there. The fact that Higbee has taken to the offense so quickly at a position where you normally see impact in year 2 for the good ones also seems to poby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He has been running with the ones on the strength of a fast start in OTAs and his draft position being higher than the rest. But he hasn't translated that practice performance over to the field and it needs to happen tonight. The KC secondary is going to be a tough assignment, but it's time for him to make a couple clutch catches and show what he can do. Also I agree that this is a big gameby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
I see a lot of ASSUMPTIONS by the fans on what Fish wants. A lot of comments on Fisherball and they might be right, it's hard to say. This offense has never been a power offense though, in his four years as head coach. I don't know if that's because of the OL injuries, or because it took him 3 years to find his horse at RB. But looking at Kendricks vs Higbee you do make a valid point. My gby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He asked DeBartolo before the pick whether they should take a chance on that kid from Notre Dame. 49ers were wise to like him at the time, but it does demonstrate that projections are guesswork. All that aside... I am STILL happy they moved up for Goff. During the buildup to the draft I figured Prescott was a Fish-type QB but he surprised me with the move to get the guy with the accuracy/arby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
He threw what should have been a pick six. And then the other pick. His accuracy comes and goes and that will give him problems vs the ones in a good defense. Loved that short yardage pass to the sideline that Spruce hauled in for the first down, that was perfectly placed. I'm rooting for the guy, but just like with Goff he's got things to improve on.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
If there were one line I had to choose to play behind as a rook it's that one. And of course in the preseason without defensive gameplanning being heavy they look even better. Really hoping the Rams' OL starts to look like that one. Sure would be nice to see the return of a great OL to go with LA wouldn't it? The two just go together.by merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
"The Rams publicly are slow-playing Goff's development and downplaying expectations in the short term. I still believe that he is on track to start Week 1 against the 49ers." I've been of this same opinion myself now from what I've seen from him in camp. They're keeping the hoopla down on the kid, which is a good plan. They pulled him from that game last Saturday IMO more because oby merlin - RamsFootballFans.com
