of how you don't draft a QB for the next year. You draft a QB for the next decade. How soon they start really is not what is important, it's about whether they're guys who are going to grow long term into what you want at the position.
Goff has everything you want in a QB even for a pass heavy offense. Quick feet, release, good feel for the rush, accuracy, ability to throw with anticipation, and he's competitive with a short memory.
There's been a lot of fallout from him not looking like Joe Montana in his first two preseason games, but if you go back and watch his snaps the kid is closer than people are giving him credit for. If the Rams needed him to play for whatever reason I believe he would be able to just like we saw with Mariota the other year, where they just add to things week to week as he grows. I don't know if Case is going to be able to string wins together, whether he's going to end up being exposed by defenses, but if so the kid's gonna be ready to go. And if Case plays well and leads us to the playoffs that's a good problem to have too.
