He just seemed like a nice, goofy type or non-serious guy to me, and granted that was from my armchair where it's impossible to really know what these guys are like. When it comes to LBs I just like the dudes that play with a big chip on their shoulders. Mike played that way, the dude was super intense, but so were so many other greats that it's just something I have always preferred. I mean I don't want the dude acting like Ray Lewis, because he's just not that guy, but more edge and playing meaner? Hells yes.
I don't know if Tree can stay healthy in the middle, and take the pounding though. I readily admit that. But I want to see as nasty defense this year. I want to see a mean group that lays receivers the F out, that won't take their foot off the opponent's throat when they have a good lead. This is where Fish (who I am still a big fan of admittedly) has really disappointed me. He still has not built that tough, intimidating defense like the one that led him to the success he did have in Tenn.
Tree has enormous talent. Even when he doesn't look physical, his general strength and ability to force fumbles has always shown. The thought that Mike might actually get him to align that talent with the other factors that play into a great MLB is very exciting stuff.
