I really liked the video and I so much enjoy watching Kurt Warner. I'm actually sad to see Goff not being the stud I hoped he would be. McVay and Snead were right to trade him for Stafford.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Will he stay if they pay him what's he's worth and can he contribute on special teams? If "no" to either question then trade him to Detroit.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I disliked Campbell from day one and I thought he was an idiot. However, I was wrong and he's done a great job with the Lions. The local Lions' fans are pissed about his terrible errors in coaching last night but they're so proud that they've arrived and no longer live under the shadow of some of their poor records. Yes, they do love Goff.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Previously to the last few years they were Ohio States' whipping boy. I still remember the pain the fans here felt when they lost to Applachia State. I teased a few friends here about it and they took it personal and got sore at me. I stopped the teasing. Sports in Michigan have sucked for so long, throw em a bone!by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
RamR if you're implying that Goff couldn't pull them out of the fire then I have to ask would it be fair to say "no" because in this game it sounds like he was doing the work, but other parts of the team, and coach, screwed it up? When we won the SB, wouldn't the game have changed significantly on some of those drives if there were a couple more drops?by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you for going to the trouble to dig up and post this data. It's interesting and informative. It does show that Raheem isn't bad but rather good or above average. I still think for a past period he kept the corners too far back, but that's history now. Personally, I'm sad he's leaving the Rams.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, I think McVay's stubborness has been a deciding factor in many lost games over the years. I'm not sure he's figured that out.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought he was great and I really wanted him to win a SB.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I began to take a closer look at the top rated QBs and as I looked I began to see that McVay certainly deserves to be near the top. He actually rated better than I thought he would. There are several long time coaches with higher winning percentages than McVay but they had strong teams years before McVay came into the league. I did a quick look for all HC winning %s for the last 6 years butby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
That dude in GB has done a better overall job. I also think that Shanahan in Frisco has done an overall better job even though his winning pct. is slightly under McVay's. This season, just like last season, proved that McVay still has his flaws, such as predilection for passing, and neglecting the running game. By now, I expected a coach, who's previously acknowledged those flaws, to have coby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, you're right. My memory tends to color things as I get older, either a bit better or a bit worse. I really liked Wade so I guess that's why he's better in my memory than he really was.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I was just looking back in time remembering how good Wade's D was. I figured by now he'd be drinking choc. malts, playing golf or computer games, and hanging out with his son/family, and enjoying the great life. Glad to hear he's still loving the grind! Good for him.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay and the FO have acted like a swinging pendulum. One year they cut too much, the next they don't cut enough. He learns and improves but at a slower pace. You can't justify keeping a guy who's platoons finished near the bottom and who's performance cost the teams wins. He shoulda kept Wade Phillips.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I've not followed SI for many years but I remember them drifting away from purely covering sports, to mixing political themes and other social issues in with sports or as stand alone articles. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think they brought this slow death upon themselves. I do remember reading some great in-depth articles and really enjoying what I read.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay is tied for 9th in winning percentage. That is NOT elite unless you don't know the definition of elite. He's very good, above average, and that's it. Let's face it, he's shown that so far in his career he is unable to get beyond the pass play mentality. Once in a while he makes a correction but after a little success he reverts back. He needs a rescue intervention, i.e. some people tby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
This season was a win. Our team exceeded most expectations. McVay and many players, young and old, proved above and beyond their worth.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com

I have a low opinion of professional journalists and talking heads. If you're very knowledgeable in a field and a professional journalist writes about it odds are that they're going to do a poor job. These guys are required to churn out work on topics they like and don't like. They don't always have the passion and energy for a given topic, the result is pig slop. You said it well Ramp. This isn't about snowflakes, it's about McVay's poor handling of a sensitive situation. Everyone knows it could and should have been handled better. I've worked with some people who were real (insert bad word here) and they abused many people under their rule. Later on, some realized they made mistakes and apologized to the wronged people, some didn't. I respect thosby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
A nice pleasure to read, thank you for taking the time to post.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah, gave me a good laugh. Goff has a lot to prove. Campbell has a lot to prove. Detroit fans are craving for a win. But they got UoM winning the college FB championship and they are feeling pretty good about that right now.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
"One thing" is too narrow a question for a team sport. Here are my 4 biggest things, not in any order: 1) Stafford being very good. 2) McVay's coaching. Not perfect by a long shot but well above average. 3) K. Williams running / the running game. 4) Nacua's performance at WR.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
All of us knew that he was not a great LBer. He played to expectations. He doesn't deserve to be called a dud. He does try hard and I think he's slowly improved. Not great but better than a simple jag.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Grats to you man! I didn't post on this thread but elsewhere I think I picked betw. 3 to 6. I'd bet money against them winning 10, plus I'd laughed at anyone who thought we could win 10 like they were stupid. Guess I was stupid. I am just shy of amazed that they did so great this year. If they can keep him they should. Good back up QBs are hard to come by, hopefully our FO has figured that out. It'd be stupid to let him walk.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
Like you I remember him having great flashes every so often and I was sad he left. But I haven't heard anything about him since. Maybe he improved his game and got some better coaching for his style? It seems we always loose good guys who are not that expensive for no good reason other than a few bucks. I wish our FO would have spent a few more bucks to keep those guys we seem to lose every yby Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't think durability was Wentz's issue, instead it was brains / wisdom. He was a big and strong running QB in a small division school and he got to bully smallish DBs when he ran. Anyone aware of the NFL knows that for a runner like Wentz his days were numbered. He had good athleticism but not on par with the greater running QB like that dude from Balt, and M. Vick. Goff is still leading teams to victory, Wentz is now a benchwarmer. Wentz had a few good to great years on a strong Philly team then he broke down as expected.by Coy Bacon - RamsFootballFans.com
He did a ton of running playing as a big QB in a lesser division and he got away with it. Entering the NFL he said he refused to change his play style. That meant he was a dead man walking. Very very few running QBs last more than a couple of years in the NFL. He did very good for a while and carried Philly towards their 1st SB victory but it was a matter of time before he sunk.
