He did a ton of running playing as a big QB in a lesser division and he got away with it. Entering the NFL he said he refused to change his play style. That meant he was a dead man walking. Very very few running QBs last more than a couple of years in the NFL. He did very good for a while and carried Philly towards their 1st SB victory but it was a matter of time before he sunk.
What was the name of that SF QB who their dufus coach insisted on running, the guy they paid and arm and leg for to move up in the draft? Last I heard he was working at a tire repair shop, (no, that's hyperbole). Was it Trey Lance?
He seemed to have been injured playing against the Rams, I believe he tried to run it in from 6 yards out or so. I think he made it but then his knee paid the price. I've also heard that he had injured it earlier but that play against the Rams sealed the deal.
After he left Philly he's been mediocre if not bad.
