I began to take a closer look at the top rated QBs and as I looked I began to see that McVay certainly deserves to be near the top. He actually rated better than I thought he would.
There are several long time coaches with higher winning percentages than McVay but they had strong teams years before McVay came into the league. I did a quick look for all HC winning %s for the last 6 years but couldn't find and pre-boiled data and I was too lazy to search each HC's record one by one.
I still don't think McVay is elite but he's knocking on the door and I'm so very glad he's our coach. The only two coaches I would consider trading him for would be Belichick or Reid. Both of those guys are in the AFC.
As much as I hate to say this, I think the 9ers are going to be the favorites to win the SB this year. I don't buy into the "choking" thing for HCs. Reid has lost before he won, McVay has lost before he won, etc.
I hope Detroit beats the 9ers but I'm not putting any money down on that!
