In hindsight, not resigning JJ was a terrible move. Rodney, as well. However, in the current Peters situation--what is the risk? Given the recent news the compensation to acquire Peters is mid and low draft picks. If he does not work out, that is small bet or asset lost. The choose incorrectly in keeping Trumaine and not Janoris. However, this move seems a low risk, high reward move. Pby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
The video was previously posted but I have yet to see anything posted about what was said. One important thing Demoff discussed was what the team learned after "the RG3 trade." He talked about the lack of time you have to develop young players from the draft in the new CBA. He specifically stated that it takes a player three years of practices now to have what that player hadby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
LaMarcus and Tree could definitely develop into the Houston role imo. What do you think?by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Completely agree. Watkins is definitely worth a one time franchise tag or big wr dollars. That guy changes the defensive scheme. The lack of recognition he gets is mind boggling to me.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I studied all the game film and Sammy was excellent. Goff and Sammy must not have been on the same page. Some of Goff's worst throws were the ones he made with Sammy as the target or the ones Goff did not throw to Sammy when he should have done so. The more I think about it, I think the Rams will likely have to franchise Sammy to keep him. With the film he put out last year, a healthy year,by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I disagree Sir. How does one get to third and long? Usually by creating stops on first and second down. If you have a defense that is easy to run on, maybe you never see a third and long. In that situation, those corners are sitting on the bench. Third down is important, but I would challenge convential thinking by saying that first down performance is a better indicator of defensive successby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Please correct me if I am wrong but nose tackle seems one of the easiest positions for a college player to have quick success. If you disregard the physical maturation, the technical side of playing the nose is simplistic compared to other positions. By technical, I mean the play responsibilities of the player not hand technique, leverage, etc. The nose will either two gap, or shoot a gap, notby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Corners and Nose Tackle. Equal priority imo. Edge rusher, OT secondary needs but needed. I would draft the best players available from any of the four positions above.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
1217 Rams vs Seahawks. Broke them and the current state of affairs between the two teams.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Great work. Totally agree with the cuts--Quinn is the keeper. One thing to consider for everyone--Barron was the lb covering the te almost the entire time. Johnson was often in the box, with LaMarcus single deep high. That's a ton of responsibility to replace. Yes, he was weak versus the run, if forced to standup man on man, but Wade doesn't expect his ilbs to hang one on one w the guardby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Could not agree with a post more. Sammy's impact is tremendous.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
No offense but this is idiocy. The complete lack of value you place in a player based on the successes of some teams, running some systems is illogical at best. Gurley is a star player. His presence is felt on the field at all times. New England, Philly, any team with any system would be very happy to have him.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Did not read the whole thread but saw people mentioning McVay likes using two te sets. This is incorrect, for last season at least. The Rams almost entirely run a 11 formation. I can get specific numbers when I have more time but the Rams through all downs run 11. Higbee first and second and Everett third down(sometimes). Everett was most often spread wide on the barrier of the formation. Cby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Wade has said that his ilbs are not expected to man up on the guards and the coverage responsilities for the ilbs are high. In my opinion, having a stud two gap nose would solve alot of the issues in the run game. Moreso, than finding a new ilb. Payne, AL, or Vea, Washington seem like good fits at this moment.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I am impressed with Troy's play. Versus TN these corners were on an island. Yes, they both missed some plays--that is the NFL, as I am sure everyone is aware. But Troy plays with solid fundamentals and has athletisicm. Good Player.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I would trade for Watkins again and make it a priority to resign him. He has been excellent. The numbers arent there but the production definitely is there. Watkins is always attacking the strength of the coverage. For example, versus the Titans LeBeau was running either a single high safety in a 5 under one deep look, or he was in thirds coverage. On the touchdown to Kupp, Watkins was assiby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Gerald plays almost every third down in 11 package--usually spread wide on the boundary. For a rookie, his playing time is significant. As a reference, look at the difference between Higbee year 1 and year 2. A year in the wieght room and learning the NFL, system is a near requirement. Everett is not getting targets when he is in.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I disagree strongly with two of Benoit's thoughts. Gurley is a monster. I have studied the games this season and Gurley is an exceptional rb. Acceleration, Speed. lateral quickness, power, etc. Does Gurley benefit from play design? Yes. Does Gurley individually maximize the amount of yards available to him? Strong yes. This is(was) my problem with Steven Jackson--he minimized the yards avby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Titans are without their top two corners likely. Would expect them to sell out to stop Gurley. Good bet Goff shoulders the offensive load tomorrow.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
One thing to note--and there is alot of evidence in that video--is Robert Quinn's pass rush. We have talked about Quinn always(well 95%+) using an outside speed rush. I believe this is a scheme decision. Donald's most common alignement is the outside shoulder of a guard. With Quinn on a speed rush, there is no ability for an offensive line to double team him. Quinn's speed rush provides extrby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Only through the first quarter, but a bad is Jamon Brown's pass blocking. Also, a good is Higbee's run blocking and the run blocking of all the WRs. Been very impressed with their downfield blocking.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
In the first quarter of the Seahawks game, I thought Goff made a couple of excellent throw aways. Plays that in previous years the ball may have been thrown for turnover. These type of plays rarely get attention, but are important to winning and show maturity in decision making.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Saffold is doing things at guard that I didn't think were possible. His ceiling is higher than anyone, but consistency through the season is an area of improvement.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
As the Seahawks, I would focus on moving to more of a two tight end power running team. I would let Jimmy walk. And would draft multiple guard/tackles. My first pick would hopefully be a do it all running back. Luke Wilsson and Vannett are ok to good tightends that would work well in this situation. My thought process is I can't block Donald. But I can take him out of obvious pass rushby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I have watched and studied Russell Wilson and could not disagree with this statement more. Russell is an exceptionally accurate pocket passer who delivers the ball short, medium and long w equal proficiency. Judging Russell off of our last game with him is a fool's gambit. I would be happy to provide you ample evidence of the prowess of Russell in the pocket. He is forced to run, at times,by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
