I disagree strongly with two of Benoit's thoughts.
Gurley is a monster. I have studied the games this season and Gurley is an exceptional rb. Acceleration, Speed. lateral quickness, power, etc. Does Gurley benefit from play design? Yes. Does Gurley individually maximize the amount of yards available to him? Strong yes. This is(was) my problem with Steven Jackson--he minimized the yards available to him. Yes, he was a victim of a bad team, bad coaching but for me he was an average back with a solid all around skill set. Gurley is exceptional.
Goff--clearly he is reading the entire field. In the Titan's game he had Sammy for an easy big gain and never looked his way. Goff was soley focused on the check down to Gurley--who was wide open and likely the primary read. But Goff needs to be able to hit those big throws when they are there. Sammy is consistetly open. Rodgers would be feeding Sammy feasts weekly. Goff throws some dimes but his development is contigent on him processing information faster as opposed to just following two reads.
Currently, going through the Titan's game. McVay vs LeBeau has been very interesting. LeBeau opens with mosty Thirds coverage which McVay shreads in drive 2. LeBeau adjusts 2 deep 5 man which McVay shreds in drive 3. Fun game too watch.
