The argument did nothing until last year proves nothing. The rating is solely based on the latest data--the last year. Every player will have an initial year of grading high. It seems that your issue is more that you disagree with the importance of the player to the team. Look at Mo Alexander as an example of the importance of the high safety to Wade's defense. Thanks. Watched that td again. It was pretty poor. He hesitates, goes back and forth between covering the sideline or the middle of the field.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Donald will be the first true star the current team management decides to sign. The current story is--let JJ walk, let Tru walk, let Sammy walk, sign and trade Ogletree and Quinn. This team needs to pay some players. Brockers signed for three years 33 million. Football is no different than normal life--they need to pay the players what they are worth or risk losing their loyalty. Donaldby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

From what I know of football, it seems Wade is probably comfortable committing more resources/players to stop the run if he is confident his guys can hold up in coverage with less support. Saban, from his days with Cleveland, spoke about how Pittsburgh defeated their defense. Saban ran a cover three, which puts eight men in the box. Pittsburgh attacked the seams with 4 vertical routes and fby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

The team has a 6.4 million cap hit for the remainder of the signing bonus. Cap savings for the year, estimated by me, at around 5-6 million. He was due a $10 million roster at the start of the league year though. So, the cap hit of retaining him was substantially more than the savings.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Given a per year fixed amount to spend on players, I believe one should have a long term strategy for how the money is spent. One strategy is to pay x percent of the salary cap per position. Ignoring specific players, how would you all assign the salary cap percentages by position group? Currently working on mine and will post mine later on. Also, what other strategies do you think are effecby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Agreed. However, his replacement would have required cap space and Ogletree was a known commodity. His cap hit for 2017 was 5.7 million per: Average Lb spending for the NFL was(is) 2.5 million. Not certain the criteria on that number but it provides some perspective on what a replacement for Ogletree in 2017 would have cost. You have a fair point. Regarding compensation, I think it is important to include the financial side of this in any compensation received from a trade. The freed up cap space is a main reason for this deal. That freed up cap space is more meaningful/desired than the draft picks imo. Draft picks are nice, but removing the contracted amounts from the team's salary cap seems the more valuable compensation in this deal.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I get the impression you felt I was communicating something bad in that statistic. It is neither good nor bad. What struck me as meaningful was the amount of change. I have not done the analysis so this is a guess---but I would imagine most teams switching coaches and offensive and defensive schemes would have similar numbers.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

I will never understand the mentally of a person who appears to only want to impose their will on a discussion, as opposed to learning and perhaps be led closer to the truth. Is there anything one can do to have you entertain opposing thoughts?by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Im not on board with the disguise the rusher concept--when that player is your best outside pass rusher. Look at the Chiefs--Sutton continually will put Houston in one on one man versus rushing him. This is a disaster imo--your best outside pass rusher needs to be rushing the passer. Quinn occassionally covered--I remember a couple plays from the second Seattle game. Please also consider that Sammy, very rarely, had the benefits gained from alignment. Sammy was very often isolated or in the lead position in bunch formations. Thus, the easiest to cover. Whereas, Kupp nearly always benefited from the rubs and friction generated from the bunch formations. Additionally, and this is not fact but an assumption on my part, Sammy also had the disadvantage of oby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Apologies if posted previously. I don't know much about Marcus. Watched him play and watched this video. Couple thoughts--1. Anger Management classes will be in effect for the Rams this year. I would highly encourage Marcus to attend. He appears to be someone who 'loses control' under extreme conditions. GIven our propensity for man to man coverage and contract/health status of current players--cbs in tatters is a fair assessment in my opinion. And LaMarcus has not been signed. LaMarcus is one of my favorites but I do not have power to sign him. Things happen in the NFL. Given the last Super Bowl, and several of our regular season games--adding 2 or 3 starting CBs is a need imo.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
