Track record good ... for DIs

Fiske would be first bust among DIs in Snead era.

Other than Brockers none of the players you mentioned was a high draft pick and they got a lot of hits. Fiske they have rated high on their draft board. I would guess he was in their top 30 somewhere so they are pretty confident he is going to work out and eventually become a starter quality player. Plus he fits a pretty strong need. The Rams are also chock full of young players so a draft pick next years draft is less needed. They faced the question do you want Fiske or not? If you really want him the price is going to be high. They must really like him and the odds are very high that they will hit on Fiske. If he ends up as a multi year starter that trade is a home run.
