I feel your pain. In the last 7 months, we have bought a new Fridge and Washer n Dryer. Finding QUALITY is damned near impossible these days. Had a Appliance Repairman of 48 years tell us the days of 10-20 appliances are pretty much over. Now, we are milking our AC on borrowed time. It is 12 years old. The window unit that was in the house I grew up in, was bought by my Parents about 2 years before I was born, in 1965. I saw it being used till around 1996-97.

I REALLY REALLY miss SEARS and when they were THE place for Appliances and service behind them.
