We have our new freezer... finally

Our freezer was finally delivered this morning! They called yesterday to confirm delivery would be today. And then this morning, the driver called to say they were loading the freezer on the truck and they'd be here in about 30 minutes. The driver and his helper were from Texas and said they were up here in St Louis helping out with Lowe's deliveries because apparently a lot of Lowe's delivery teams suck. (he didn't use those words, but it was inferred). His helper looked like he was about 19 years old and he was a little squirt... I'm guessing 5'7, maybe 160 lb. I felt sorry for him trying to wrangle that freezer. He was tiny. Anyhow, after they got here, they used the hydraulic lift to get the freezer out of the truck and they had to unpack it while it was still outside in order to get it through my front door. As they unpacked it, I thought... I don't remember it being that big in the store. Then I noticed it was stainless steel (the freezer we bought was white) and then I saw a drink dispenser on the front of the door! They had unloaded a refrigerator which was not what I bought.. I freaked. But all was not lost. My freezer was on the truck. They just grabbed the wrong appliance to unload. They put the frig back on the truck and unloaded the freezer. After they unpacked it and taken the door off, they brought up the old freezer from the basement and then took the new freezer down to the basement, leveled it, and told us not to plug it in for an hour. They had to turn it on its side to get it down the basement stairs so the freon will need to settle before we plug it in.

We won't be using it today for sure but at least it's here. We'll start filling it later this week but it will be a slow process. The trash can outside is so full of food from the old freezer that we can barely move it. I'm just hoping we can get it to the end of the driveway for the trash truck when it comes on Tuesday.
