Of all the advanced countries we alone experience these mass shootings over and over and over and over. Almost on a daily basis. So my thought is this: I no longer understand the country I live in.
Actually I do understand it-a little. Our population is and has been since WW2 exponentially. We have always had a proportion of our people who are unstable. Now that same proportion simply means these mentally sick people are our there in plain site. Until we all accept the fact that to control and or mitigate this disease by paying (taxes) the amount of money it will take to get a handle on this issue what we see will -as it is becoming-an almost daily occurrence. If we are unwilling to pay what it would take for mental health treatment we will have to look to our lawmakers for legislation limiting these people from access to dangerous arms designed only to kill people. It won't prevent all such tragedies but it will a lot. And as I wrote above even if we could save the life of one child it would be worth it.
