I was talking about this movie to guys at work , most never even heard of the prision camp , thats like only 50 miles away
and that German Prisioners were used laborers to farm the land durning the end of WWII
most of the people l talked to , never even knew that
stuff they don't teach you in school
I am kind of curious now to how many stayed after the war NW Iowa and SW Minnesota has a very large German population , I wonder if any of that played into that
I also wonder if this movie will actually be a Christmas movie , when the Germans were being held prisoners , they created a Nativity scene
The scene has 65 half life-sized figures made of cement and built by German prisoners of war at Camp Algona during WWII.
so , I just wonder if the movie will be about the German prisoners making that Nativity scene , while probably not being overly liked by the locals at the time
