NASCAR isn't at the top of my list, but it doesn't mean it's not high on it. For me, it's about courses I'm not a big fan of ovals with bleacher seats. So I am bigger fan of NASCAR when it's on venues such as Watkins Glen and Sears Point framed in lush greenery and hills. Not the sterility of concrete only ovals.
But then I grew up just 20 miles from MidOhio so that comes with how much early years watching racing influenced my opinions now.
Now, I'm going to possibly shock you. . . I can just hear you going . . "HUH?" Or maybe not. . .
I absolutely love drag racing. When I covered NHRA for UPI, I was able stand at the burnout points. . . and just the feel of the ground shaking beneath my feet as the tires went to war with the ground made it special. And then just a few seconds of sheer power rushing down the track is an experience you can't have with any other kind of racing.
