Take from a diabetic. If you have to, you do it!
You can live without a lot of carbs or sugar. You don't have to rule them out completely.
Fruit and veggies really do taste good and are good for you.
Try eating a wrap instead of the bread in a sandwich. A thin crust pizza might be ok once in a while.
I eat a lot of nuts. Almonds are very good for you. Just try to stay away from the salted kind if you can.
Eating fiber helps to slow down the absorption of sugar in your system.
And watch out for the dried fruit. A lot of sugar in them.
The bottom line is, you can do what you have to do, and still enjoy life!
And the A1C is the blood test you should have a few times per year.
An excellent number for the A1C is 5.3.
That's the goal that any diabetic should work for.
And keep exercising. That helps a lot.
Oh, and by the way, GO RAMS!!!!
